Meet The Hygenists
Karen M : Born and raised in Ohio, I moved to Arizona in 1976. Love our desert and sunshine! I graduated from Pima College and have been practicing Dental Hygiene since 1999. In my free time I love spending time with my son and our dog Josie.
Mildred G : Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. I graduated from Pima College in 2017. I love that many of my patients have become like family. In my spare time you can find me traveling some where around the world.
About Dr. Acomb DDS
I am a proud seasoned and experienced dental provider. I continue to practice beyond a given “retirement” age because I enjoy doing what I do and should a time come when I do not enjoy it or my skills should deteriorate I will retire. Until that time my patients can expect nothing short of excellence and decades of out of the box solutions for special cases. That is what gives me the joy of life and keeps my sense of humor extremely active in every patient visit where possible.
Originally from Cincinatti, Ohio I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1967 and my Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1971. I served our Country earning the rank Captain in our US Army. I have been serving the greater Tucson area for the past 40 + years. Life member of the American Dental Association, Arizona Dental Association, Southern Arizona Dental Association. I attend Continued Education courses regularly with the Pima Dental Study Club to which I am a past Board Member of 15 years and past President of 3 years. Past consultant for Governors council for AHCCCS.
About the Practice
My practice includes routine Amalgams because they are not toxic despite what 60 minutes said 30 years ago. They are easy to place, long-lasting and inexpensive. I will do a cosmetic filling for any patient in any circumstance with the understanding that they are more expensive and fees will always be quotes. I do partial and complete dentures and I use labs in Tucson. I do Crown and Bridge, likewise, with an excellent lab in Tucson. I also perform root canal treatments as needed to relieve pain and retain teeth. I extract teeth when they are non-restorable, I will refer to an oral surgeon if I feel its best. I do not do orthodontics but I do minor tooth movement in some cases. I love children and offer nitrous oxide to avoid having to use local anesthesia on baby teeth fillings.
